IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Esperanza. The Aztecs are more than prepared for their move from the Sunset League and the Pac-5 Division. The Aztecs struggled last season, missing the playoffs and posting a 4-6 record. Will this move be the boost needed for Esperanza to bounce back?
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
El Modena. The Vanguards have a new coach, Ed Drzanek, and return 10 starters from last season. Could a playoff berth be in the future?
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Josh Peterman, Foothill, QB: Peterman steps in to replace last year’s starter, Aaron Dupin. Peterman progressed nicely during the summer passing league schedule. He will have a steady group of offensive weapons to help him.
Luke Wood, El Dorado, DE/TE: Wood is one of the county’s top recruits. He leads a good group of El Dorado defensive lineman and will be a factor in the Golden Hawks passing game.
OTHER TOP PLAYERS
Brea Olinda: RB Josh Vizcaya; MLB Justin Owens; WR/CB Will Rosell; QB Cameron Jones
Canyon: QB Beau Perry; TE/LB Ty Parker; LB Josh Seiler; RB Trevon Cox
El Dorado: QB Andreas Ambuehl; RB Jordan Long; WR JD Blackamore; DE Kevin Horn
El Modena: WR Kyle Calvo; DB Patrick Zurbuchen; QB Zac Hermans
Esperanza: QB Mark Tumlinson; RB Mike Manibusan; MLB Mason Miller; DB/WR Nick Catalano
Foothill: RB Tanner Bryant; WR Noah Stillman; MLB AJ Hoover; OL Nyles Amelita; K Sean Huddleston
Villa Park: RB/SS Kapena Olsen; MLB David Tafuna; TE Clay Scarborough; QB Blair Boyce; DB Nate Roberts
MARK YOUR CALENDAR
