O.C. nominees for McDonald's All-Star Games

Six girls and 10 boys from the county are finalists for the contests.

Six girls and 10 boys from Orange County schools are nominees to play in the McDonald’s All-American Basketball Games.

More than 2,000 high school players are nominated nationwide. The final teams are announced Feb. 11. The game is March 31 in Columbus, Ohio.

The county nominees:

Girls — Nicole Ballestero, Villa Park; Lauren Engeln, Laguna Hills; Cassie Harberts, San Clemente; Kesley Harris, Brea Olinda; Alex Sanchez, Troy; and Melissa Zornig, Santa Margarita.

Boys — Kyle Boswell, Edison; Clint Bozner, Villa Park; Anthony Brown, Ocean View; Gary Franklin, Mater Dei; Tyler Funk, Orange Lutheran; Max Hooper, Mater Dei; Avery Johnson, Ocean View; Keala King, Mater Dei; Tyler Lamb, Mater Dei; and Ryan Okwudibonye, Ocean View.
