PRESS BOX: Also, a popular Irvine softball coach resigns and recruiting updates from two of Irvine’s top football players.

You see them at every high school and youth sporting event throughout the county.

Fathers cheering, fathers pacing, fathers sweating and fathers supporting their sons and daughters in every way they can.

They are there for a high five after a victory or a hug after a tough loss.

But their support is never-ending.

We saw plenty of them at the Ryan Lemmon Showcase softball and baseball games last week at Deanna Manning Stadium and Ryan Lemmon Stadium.

We've got a story about one of the players who dedicated a baseball game to his father.

There's also news about a softball coach in Irvine resigning, a scholarship winner, Brandon Horth's final high school baseball game for Woodbridge and recruiting updates from two of Irvine's top football players.

For all you dads about to celebrate your big day on Sunday, we salute you!

Happy Father's Day!
