Estancia

Last season: 5-6 overall, 2-1 league

Postseason: 2007, lost in Southern Division first round to Irvine, 24-6

Coach: Mike Bargas (2nd year, 5-6)

Outlook: With Mendez returning from a big season and an experienced quarterback on hand, the Eagles should be fine offensively if the linemen come through. “We've got big guys up front,” Bargas said, “but they're very young, too.” The Eagles are young in other positions, too. An asset should be the addition of former Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach head coach Dave Holland, who joins Estancia as its defensive coordinator.
