Whittier Christian-Cantwell Sacred Heart recap

Ryan Esslinger quarterbacked a near perfect first half as Whittier Christian jumped out to a 35-0 and then coasted to a 49-6 nonleague victory over Cantwell Sacred Heart at Whittier College on Friday night.

Esslinger threw three first-half touchdowns and also scored on a 52-yard run as the Heralds scored touchdowns on five of their six possessions. Esslinger did not have an incompletion until there was 1:40 left in the first half as he completed his first 10 passes of the game. Esslinger finished the game completing 21 out of 24 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns.
