•In the CIF-Southern Section Division I-A playoffs, Los Alamitos won the division championship with a 67-50 victory over Redondo Union in the final. Newport Harbor advanced to the second round.Edison was eliminated in the first round. Marina and Fountain Valley were eliminated in the wild-card round. …

•Los Alamitos returns Corbin Moore, an inside force, and has a talented group around him. Dillon Ratleff is the son of former Long Beach State star Ed Ratleff. …

•Edison's Kyle Boswell averaged 18 points last season. Eric Ferraro averaged eight points and seven assists, and Carl Eberts scored eight a game. …

•Newport Harbor's Kyle Caldwell could be one of the top big men in the county. Fountain Valley, with David Swartz and John Camarena, has the size to compete for a playoff berth. …

•Esperanza's Carlos Ortin and Chad Delaney leads a strong group of guards for the Aztecs. …

•Marina will be one of the highest-scoring and most-entertaining teams in the county, with its reliance and full-court pressure and 3-point shooting.
