Garden Grove- Sammy Salgado rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another, but it wasn’t enough as Liberty Christian (2-3, 0-1) fell to visiting Avalon, 60-30, Friday at Garden Grove Park.
The Minutemen couldn’t hand the Lancers (4-0) their first loss of the season, after falling behind by 35 points in the first quarter.
The early deficit was a combination of turnovers and sharp offensive execution by Avalon.
“There is a reason by why they are 4-0, “ Coach Nick Karavedas said. “They smash opponents early and a good team takes advantages of foes sloppiness.”
