2009 All-County boys cross country team
Plus the second team and coach of the year.
FIRST TEAM
Ricardo Campuzano, Dana Hills, Jr.
The Dolphins junior enjoyed a breakout season that saw him become the team's No. 1 runner. Campuzano won the South Coast League individual title and led the Dolphins to their third straight CIF-SS Division I team title by finishing eighth. He capped his season at the Division I state meet by posting the sixth best time among all county runners, leading Dana Hills to its third straight state title.
Connor Kaddatz, Dana Hills, Jr.
Kaddatz turned in a strong season that saw him become a vital member of the Dolphins title team. He finished third at the South Coast League finals and placed ninth at the CIF-SS Division I finals, third best among all country runners in the race. Kaddatz finished with the eighth best time among all county runners at the Division I state meet, helping the Dolphins claim their third straight title.
Sean Krinik, Valencia, Sr.
After dealing with illness throughout much of the early portion of the season, Krinik returned to help the Tigers become one of Division II's top squads. He finished second at the Empire League finals, and then finished 10th at the CIF-SS Division II finals, leading the Tigers to a third place finish. Krinik finished the season with the county's fourth best time at the state meet, as Valencia came in third.
Jose Madera, Anaheim, Sr.
For third straight season, Madera established himself as one of the county's top runners. He captured his third straight Division II title at the Central Park Invitational and placed third at the Orange County Championships. After winning his third straight Orange League individual title, Madera came in 10th at the CIF-SS Division I finals and was fourth in Division I at the state meet, second best among all county runners at the meet.
Elliot Myers, Esperanza, Jr.
Played a big role in helping lead the Aztecs to the Division II state meet. Myers finished second at the Sunset League finals and 11th at the CIF-SS Division II finals, third best among county runners in the race. He then turned in a 14th place finish at the Division II state meet, fifth best among all runners in the county. His effort helped the Aztecs to an eighth place team.
Jantzen Oshier, Trabuco Hills, Jr.
The Mustangs junior emerged as an elite runner in the county. Oshier finished second at the O.C.C. and won the individual title at the Sea View League Finals. Oshier's standout performance continued during the postseason, as he was fourth at the CIF-SS Division I finals, second best among all county runners at the meet. Oshier then finished seventh in Division I at the state meet with the third best time of the day among all county runners.
Jordan Senko, El Toro, Sr.
The Chargers top runner enjoyed a fine season and helped El Toro to a fifth place team finish at the Division I state meet. Senko placed fifth at the O.C.C. and was fourth at the Sea View League finals. After leading the Chargers to a seventh place finish at the CIF-SS Division I finals, Senko turned in the seventh best time among all county runners at the state meet.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Tim Butler, Dana Hills
Despite only one returner from a season ago, Butler and the Dolphins continued to be the county's standard of success throughout the 2009 season. Dana Hills won its third straight team title at the Orange County Championships and fourth straight South Coast League title. The Dolphins then completed their season with its third straight CIF-SS Division I title and joined Hart High of Los Angeles (1990-92) as the only Division I team to win three straight Division I state titles.
