On a team loaded with talented tennis players, Dawson – an All-County and CIF champion doubles player last year – has quite possibly been the Trojans’ most consistent and reliable singles player over the last two weeks.
To compliment his singles sweep of No. 3 Woodbridge earlier this season, the sophomore swept No. 2 Corona del Mar on Thursday to help University conquer its rival, 12-6.
And if last week’s victories over Beckman and Corona del Mar weren’t enough, University won the Dana Hills Tournament over the weekend in dominating fashion by defeating Capistrano Valley, 9-0, Northwood, 6-3, and Corona del Mar, 9-0.
