In Division 6 wild-card games:

Cypress 8, Los Amigos 7: Freshman Sarah Smith scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty shot with 5:12 left in the fourth and Rachel Privett made a save with 10 seconds left as the visiting Centurions (19-8) held off the Lobos (15-10) at Garden Grove.

Privett made six of her 18 saves in the final period to help Cypress advance to Thursday’s first-round game at No. 4 Chadwick.

“We put it in her hands,” Cypress coach Ryan Poole said of Privett, a 5-foot-11 junior who leads the county with 380 saves.

Dana Ramos drew the penalty shot that led to Smith’s conversion. Ramos and Aimee Espey each scored three goals for Cypress.

Los Amigos junior goalie Diane Ho nearly matched Privett, racking up 14 saves and nine steals. Lennon Muschinski led the Lobos with three goals.

The Lobos trailed, 7-4, early in the third period but scored three consecutive goals to tie the score, 7-7, going to the fourth.
