Cypress

Last season: 10-3, 2-2

Postseason: 2007, defeated Pacifica, 36-30, in Southern Division championship

Coach: Ray Fenton (third year, 22-14)

Outlook: The Centurions won a CIF title last year, in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Coach Ray Fenton, entering his fourth year as coach, said during spring practice that this was the year he had targeted for big things. This group has the experience, led by a group of 14 returning starters, to contend for the league title.

Home stadium: Western High

Factoid: Cypress was 4-3 through seven games last season before going on a six-game winning streak.

Strongest: Michael Andrade, Jamil Douglas, James Coman, Dominick Buchanon, Tariq Aman
