WESTMINSTER - Edison fumbled on its first three possessions Friday, but Nick Crissman and the Chargers executed crisply thereafter en route to a 62-7 rout of Marina in a Sunset League game at Westminster High.
Crissman completed 16 of 19 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns and added a 6-yard scoring run as Edison (4-3, 1-1) showed few ill effects of a loss to Los Alamitos last week in its league opener.
"This was Nick's best game this year, and it was the first week he was fully healthy," Edison coach Dave White said.
The Chargers' Areseo Lakey posted the only score of the first quarter on a 4-yard touchdown run. Crissman sparked a 20-point second-quarter outburst with his scoring run and touchdown passes of 38 and 34 yards to Tyler Paul and Trent Burns-Stickney, respectively.
Edison tacked on three touchdowns in the third quarter, with Lakey and Ceasare Nieto scoring on the ground and Crissman connecting with Mike Bogard on a 30-yard touchdown pass, Crissman's final snap of the evening.
Marina (3-4, 0-2) could not find its rhythm on either side of the ball. The Vikings' defense provided their only points when Andrew Moore returned a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
