Scott, the second fastest runner in county history in the 400, assumed the lead early was never challenged clocking a lifetime-best of 54.73.

Later, she crossed the finish line of the 200 in a seasonal best time of 24.59, just ahead of Mater Dei senior Gia Trevisan (24.79).

Earlier in the meet, Trevisan (12.28) took home the county title in the 100.

“I just relaxed and ran as hard as I could,” Trevisan said.

JSerra senior Katherine Delaney produced a strong race in the 1,600. Taking the lead early in the first lap, she powered to the finish line in a time of 4:50.98. That time is the fastest in the state this year.

“I wanted to stay really relaxed in the first two last laps and go all out in the final 800,” Delaney said. “Winning is humbling for me and I’m happy with what I did.”

Orange Lutheran senior Annie Giebelhaus made it three county high jump titles in four years, as she cleared 5-5 to win the competition.

“I knew that I would have to be mentally prepared and focused today,” Giebelhaus said. “This was a good day and makes me feel good for the rest of the season.”

Trabuco Hills junior Adrienne Liu was a double champion, winning both the long jump (17-2) and triple jump (37-7¾) titles.

“I feel so much stronger going into the end of the season and the postseason after hitting these big marks,” Liu said. “Winning both is a big deal to me.”

In the throws competition, Katella senior Pamela Makanesi was a double winner, as she claimed titles in both the discus (134-5) and the shot put (37-9¾).

Foothill junior Victoria Rische defended her pole vault title, clearing 12-3 to win the competition on jumps over Los Alamitos senior Carissa Culver and Mater Dei senior Madalyn Roberts, who also cleared 12-3.

“It was a perfect day to make a good height and being injury free is a big deal for me,” Rische said.

El Toro senior Hanna Edwards emerged for a pack late in the race to win the 800 title in a time of 2:14.22.

“The first lap was pretty slow, but I felt that I was strong and could kick at the end,” Edwards said.

In her final 3,200 race at the county meet, Dana Hills senior Alaina Alvarez won the 3,200 race in a time of 11:03.70.

“I just need to trust my coaches instead of some of my own competitive drive,” Alvarez said. “I feel like I’m in better shape now than I was last track season.”

Dana Hills junior Tori Usgaard continued her strong season, producing a seasonal best time of 15.42 to win the 100m hurdles race.

“The difference for me between a good race and a bad race is my trail leg,” said   “This is my first year doing hurdles and I never thought I’d win this race, which is exciting.”

Mission Viejo senior Sydney Elliot, the county leader in the 300 hurdles, won the title in a time of 45.55.

“Winning here on my home track feels good,” said Elliott. “I’ve worked so hard and its great to be O.C. champion in the 300 hurdles.”

She also ran a leg of the Diablos 400 relay team that posted a seasonal best fully automated time of 48.53 to finish first.

Los Alamitos (3:54.76) claimed the 1,600 relay title.

Mater Dei (67 points) edged 2010 champion Trabuco Hills (62 points) to win the team title.

“This is always a big goal for us and the win is a huge stepping stone for us going into league and CIF,” Monarchs coach Rick Martinez said.
