JAMIE SULLIVAN -- At No. 10 is Jamie Sullivan. This junior from Marina High School has verbally committed to the University of Oregon and will get the chance to compete in the greatest conference in college softball. Sullivan swings a steady and confident bat. She also brings versatility to Marina's line-up. She is Marina's starting pitcher, best infielder and best athlete. I expect her explosive bat and experience to lead Marina this season.

Orange County is considered the hotbed of softball.

The best softball in the world is played weekly in local schools and parks. Having developed some of the greatest softball players of all time, the county continues to dominate the softball recruiting circuit.

As the 2010 high school season starts this week, the county is again loaded with talented players who have made verbal commitments to some of the most prestigious college programs.

But who are the best? Who was recruited the most? And who can be expected to make the most noise this season?

As many of you know, last Thursday night Bri Matthews passed away.  Matthews was a stellar athlete and young woman who tremendously impacted the game of softball in her short 16 years. One of the only sophomores on this list, she ranked No. 5 when it was first published. Now, each member after her has been moved up a spot, and a new No. 10 has been added.  RIP Bri.
