Riverside Christian defeats Capistrano Valley Christian, 46-11.
SAN CLEMENTE - Winless Capistrano Valley Christian took on undefeated Riverside Christian and the result was not unexpected: a 46-11 nonleague victory for Riverside on Saturday at San Clemente High.

It didn’t take much time for the Cougars (7-0) to get going as Christian Mendez returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a score.

Following a missed PAT attempt, the Cougars saw CVC drive down the field and score on a 19-yard field goal by Jon Gencarella.

CVC (0-7) could not hold off the Cougars run game for more than a quarter as running back Jon Harris bulldozed his way for three second-quarter rushing touchdowns to help put the Cougars up, 26-3, at halftime.

Eagles senior Evan Hauschka scored on a 32-yard run late in the fourth to cap an 80-yard drive. He finished with 112 yards on 19 carries.
