University junior Megan Rankin opened her season strong last week by posting county-leading times in the 200 and 500-yard freestyles en route to be selected girls swimmer of the meet for March 7, 2011.

The freestyler clocked county-leading times in the 200-yard (1:54.63) and 500 freestyles (4:58.83) to help the No. 1 Trojans post a season-opening 104-66 victory at Tesoro. The Irvine Aquazot standout posted an All-America consideration time in the 500 free.
