O.C. players to take part in Literacy Classic all-star football game
A football all-star game for Southern California private-school players, The Literacy Classic, will be played Thursday at Whittier College at 7:30 p.m.
County players confirmed to participate: From JSerra, Jonavaughn Williams, Jake Hall, Keith Parker; from Mater Dei, Ricky Ortiz, Anthony Topete, Jared Torres, Youscheng Cho and Trevor Buzzone; and, from Orange Lutheran, Graeme Fraser, Elisha Davis, Willie Fletcher and Demetrius Palmer.
Longtime St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs coach Marijon Ancich, who also coached at Tustin, is coaching one team. Village Christian of Sun Valley coach and former NFL quarterback Jay Schroeder will coach the other team.
Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 13 and younger.
The game is organized and managed by Competitive Elite Sports (competitiveelitesports.com). Tickets can be purchased on the company's Web site.
