SVC posts 4th shutout

ALISO VIEJO Saddleback Valley Christian’s Brendan Chambers threw for three touchdowns and Gregg Romero  caught two passes for scores to lead the Warriors to a 54-0 San Joaquin League victory over Liberty Christian on Friday night at Aliso Niguel High. 

The shutout was the fourth of the season for Saddleback Valley Christian (9-0, 6-0).

The victory  sets up a season-ending showdown for the league title with Fairmont Prep next Friday at Valley Christian High in Cerritos. 

Fairmont Prep (6-2, 5-0) plays Ribet Academy of Los Angeles tonight.

“We (SVC) have a lot of respect for Fairmont Prep and feel we have to have our best game of the season to get by them,” SVC  coach Gary Chambers said. 

The Warriors defense held Liberty Christian (1-8, 1-5) to minus-12 yards for the game and had  three interceptions. Defensive back William Hinn ran one interception back 20 yards for a touchdown.
