Calvary Chapel
Last season: 1-9, 1-2 (tie, fourth place)
Postseason: 2001, lost to Verbum Dei, 33-0, in Div. XI playoffs first round
Coach: Lyle Lansdell (6th year, 9-38-3)
Outlook: This program has struggled in recent years, but Lansdell looks at 2008 as an opportunity for some positive steps. A veteran coaching staff provides stability, and a new veer offense could help keep the Eagles competitive. But the same problem still exists: roster size, and the resulting lack of depth. Calvary had 35 players on the varsity roster this past spring, but injuries have reduced that to 26 players. Lansdell said Calvary has a standout tight end, Kevin Schick, so look for the Eagles to relay upon him.
