Tustin vs. Brea Olinda recap
BREA - Brea Olinda will play at least one more week of football after defeating Tustin, 28-15, at Wildcat Stadium in a Century League matchup Friday night.
The Wildcats (4-6, 3-2) secured the league’s third playoff spot with the victory.
Quarterback Kyle Essington' first completion of the game was a 69-yard record-breaking touchdown strike to Dakota Hopkins, which gave the wide-out Brea Olinda’s single-season receptions record. He caught another scoring pass later to give him 50 on the season.
Brea Olinda running back Cory Johnson made the most of his 10 carries, rushing for 148 and a score.
Tailback Anthony Wilkerson had 80 yards rushing and a touchdown in the first half for the Tillers (4-6, 2-3), but an undisclosed leg injury forced him to the sidelines for most of the second half.
