A team captain for the CIF-bound Centurions, Black’s noteworthy achievements have extended to the classroom and the community. She is currently taking AP Calculus, AP Government, AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP English Literature. She is the National Honor Society Committee President and is a member of the California Scholastic Federation, and the Physics Club. Black was also named as the school’s AP Chemist of the Year in 2012. She has served as an adoption counselor with the Found Animals Foundation and has volunteered with the Special Olympics at Long Beach State. Black’s top college choices include: UCLA, Stanford, Yale, or UC San Diego. She plans to major in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering.
