NORTH HILLS -- Much had been said regarding St. Margaret’s football game Saturday against Los Angeles Baptist, most of it concerning Coach Harry Welch’s return to the valley, where he spent four decades at the helm of powerhouse Canyon of Santa Clarita.

But Welch was more concerned with how his players would perform against a Knights team that had won four games in a row.

The Tartans proved they were up to the task, dominating L.A. Baptist, 52-0, to extend their winning streak to 33 games.

St. Margaret’s (5-0) scored on all of its offensive possessions except its last, when it was content to let the clock run out against Baptist (4-2).

Alex Brolick wasted no time getting the Tartans on the board as he fielded a punt after the game’s first possession and raced 79 yards for a touchdown.

Brolick had 234 all-purpose yards.

Johnny Murayama scored the next two touchdowns on runs of 11 and 6 yards, thhen Brolick scored on a 54-yard punt return.
