Kennedy refuses to be stopped by Loara
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ANAHEIM — D.J. Boulton scored three touchdowns and Mike Evans scored two to lead Kennedy to a 42-26 victory over Loara in an Empire League opener Thursday at Western High.
Boulton's fourth-quarter TD run sealed the fourth consecutive victory for the Fighting Irish (4-2, 1-0).
Eli Pleasant scored on a 39-yard run on Kennedy’s opening drive. Evans then caught two TD passes from Andy Peterson on the Irish’s next two possessions, giving Kennedy a 20-0 lead.
The Saxons (4-2, 0-1) battled back. Howard Gauta scored on a 46-yard run, and Jeremy Grass caught a 19-yard TD pass from Michael Schneider to cut the lead to 20-14.
Boulton then added a 3-yard TD run late in the quarter to give Kennedy a 28-14 halftime advantage. He also added a touchdown run in the third quarter.
Schneider threw two TD passes in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late for Loara.
Schneider completed 16 passes for 228 yards and three TDs, but he was picked off three times and sacked six times.
Peterson completed 15 passes for 224 yards for Kennedy.
