ALISO VIEJO - Aliso Niguel could not wait to get the 2012 season started, as the Wolverines put up 28 points in the first half on their way to a dominating 28-0 victory against visiting Bellflower in a nonconference matchup Friday at Aliso Niguel High.
“We did expect that (performance),” Aliso Niguel coach Kurt Westing said. “We have nine starters back on offense so we expected that.”
Senior quarterback Nathan Cole shined in the opener, going 16 for 24 for 239 yards and three touchdowns in three quarters.
Aliso Niguel jumped on Bellflower early, scoring on the first possession of the game. Cole completed three of his four pass attempts and Ryan Walker capped off the eight-play, 70-yard scoring drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.
