The Register’s boys basketball athlete of the week for Monday, Dec. 18.

Northwood

He was MVP of the SoCal Elite Gary Raya Classic tournament which was won by Northwood. The 6-foot senior guard scored 18 points in the Timberwolves’ 51-41 win over JSerra in the championship game at El Dorado High. He scored 30 in a win over El Toro in the semifinals. Huynh is averaging 18 points a game.
