El Dorado closed the gap in the second quarter, briefly taking the lead before heading into halftime trailing West Torrance 32-31.

Jaylin Jones and Brooke Salas have carried the Golden Hawks all year and did so again in the first half, scoring 24 of the team’s points.

El Dorado closed the half on a 14-8 run after trailing 24-17.

Jones — who leads all scorers with 14 — knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers off assists from Haylee Byrne to bring the Golden Hawks within 28-26. Salas made two free throws to put El Dorado ahead 31-30 with 50 seconds left, but a Kayla Sato basket gave the Warriors the lead again.

Center Kylie Fujioka leads West Torrance with 13 points.
