6. Chase Rettig, San Clemente (6-2, 201, QB): The transfer from La Salle of Pasadena was the county's fastest rising recruit during the summer and he wound up committing to Boston College. He also received an offer from Tennessee and seemed in the mix at USC until the Trojans landed Jesse Scroggins of Lakewood. Rettig used to be considered a bit under-the-radar nationally. Boston College made the first offer and landed his commitment. He works with quarterback guru Steve Clarkson, who has trained Matt Barkley (Mater Dei, USC) and many others.
