Mater Dei vs. Servite at Angel Stadium, Nov. 2
Servite has beaten Mater Dei three years in a row for the first time since, well, several Presidential elections ago. And Servite has been league champion or co-champion for all seven of Troy Thomas' years as the Friars coach. Mater Dei looks to swing the pendulum the other way. The Monarchs, who missed the playoffs last year, might have their best team in quite a few seasons. If this one sets up like it looks like it should, with rankings and playoff berths and perhaps even the Trinity League championship on the line, we could be in store for another classic matchup of what is Orange County's best sports rivalry. The big joint on the corner of State College and Orangewood will be rockin' for this one.
