Free agent: Nick Reed, DE, Mission Viejo (Oregon). Reed was a great defensive end with the Diablos, and he was the county defensive player of the year as a senior. He was a standout at Oregon, too, where he had a school-record 29 sacks. The Seahawks took him in the seventh round of the 2009 draft. He played in 16 games last season, finishing with 17 tackles and one sack. He suffered a knee injury during training camp, and he reportedly reached an injury settlement with the Seahawks. Reed had workouts with the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers during the season, but was not offered a contract by either team.
