Laguna Beach sophomore Aria Fischer scored four goals and Newport Harbor senior goalie Carlee Kapana was selected tournament MVP as the U.S. women’s youth water polo team defeated Canada, 5-4, to claim the FINA Youth World Championships in Spain.
Fischer’s sister, Laguna Beach senior Makenzie Fischer, added one goal for Team USA, which finished the tournament undefeated.
Corona del Mar junior Maddie Musselman scored three goals to help the Americans defeat Greece, 12-11, in the semifinals.
