What to watch: The women’s 200 freestyle final looms as one of the most anticipated races of the Trials. Katie Ledecky could flash her range in a shorter race while the Americans will take the top-six finishers for their 800 free relay in Rio. The U.S. women are the reigning world champions in the 800 free relay. Katie McLaughlin of the Nadadores is seeded eighth, two spots away from Rio. Michael Phelps will be seeking to capture the 200 fly for the fourth consecutive Trials, which would be a U.S. record. Tom Shields (Edison) is seeded third and gaining momentum after the semifinals. Stanford’s Ella Eastin (Crean Lutheran), pictured, races in the 200 individual medley final for a shot at Rio.
