The U.S. women’s water polo team defeated Spain in shootout, 14-13, Sunday to capture the round-robin Holiday Cup with a 5-1 record at Corona del Mar.
The tournament also included Netherlands and Italy.
Kiley Neushul scored five goals for Team USA on Sunday, including the winner in shootouts, while Maggie Steffens added four. Kaleigh Gilchrist (Newport Harbor) had three assists.
Team USA finished 2015 with a 41-6 record.
