All-County water polo players Makenzie Fischer of Laguna Beach and Maddie Musselman of Corona del Mar each scored once Tuesday to help the U.S. women’s water polo team beat Japan, 14-5, on the opening day of the FINA Intercontinental Tournament in Riverside.
County products Kaleigh Gilchrist (Newport Harbor) and Jillian Kraus (Foothill) were among four players who scored twice Team USA.
Fountain Valley grad Marisa Young scored once for the Americans.
