Marcela Portales scored eight goals as Villa Park’s girls water polo team defeated Valhalla, 13-6, in the finals of the Benson Cup at El Dorado to capture their first tournament title since 2010.
Portales was named tournament MVP for the Spartans, who last claimed the Holiday Cup. Goalie Kelly Medina also was selected all-tournament.
Coach Zach Larkin’s Villa Park squad (6-0) takes on Beckman on Tuesday before moving on to the tough Villa Park Classic.
