The Coast View Conference has set its alignments for the South Coast and Sea View leagues for the fall sports in 2016.

Here’s a look at boys water polo, along with their playoff divisions in 2015:

South Coast League (Div. 2 in 2015)

Aliso

Capo Valley

Dana

El Toro

San Clemente

Sea View League (Div. 3 in 2015)

Laguna Hills

Mission Viejo

San Juan

Tesoro

Trabuco

Analysis

Capo Valley and Aliso Niguel make the jump in competition to the South Coast, departing the Sea View. Meanwhile, Mission and Tesoro drop to the Sea View after their runs in the South Coast.

And while the CIF-SS is moving to a competitive equity playoff model — approved Wednesday — teams will still be expected to quality for the playoffs from their league competitions (top-3 automatically qualify). It’s only after qualifying for the playoffs that teams can then placed in different playoff divisions based on competitive equity.

At first glance, the South Coast will still be chasing Dana Hills but Aliso is a program on the rise and El Toro should be solid. Expect Dana to potentially head to Division 1 for the playoffs. Capo makes the difficult jump without Austin Sechrest. The Sea View appears wide open and could fall lower than Division 3 for the playoffs. Trabuco could surface as the Sea View favorite.
