Sophomore quarterback Brendan Costello enrolled this week at Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo athletic director Troy Roelen confirmed Thursday.
Costello, 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, was a backup quarterback at Santa Magarita in the 2016 season. He is not related to former Santa Margarita quarterback KJ Costello who now is at Stanford.
Brendan Costello in ’16 completed 18 of 37 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns.
Another sophomore quarterback, Joey Yellen, recently transferred to Mission Viejo. Yellen transferred from St. John Bosco.
Earlier this week, junior quarterback Josiah Norwood transferred to Santa Margarita from Troy. Norwood was a Freeway League offensive player of the year in 2016.
