COUNTY OUTLOOK

Santa Ana Valley - The Falcons showed how good they are when they lost to Paramount 1-0. Yeah they lost, but they played a solid game against a nemesis, who let's face it, is good enough to be in D1. The Falcons, though, should be the Orange Legaue's No. 2 seed as Century lost the league championship because of having to forfeit two games for having a player play on an adult league team during the season. Century beat the Falcons, 1-0, earlier this month. Adrian Casillas and Arturo Olivio are the two leaders on the team.

Century - The Centurions might not be as talented as in the past, but they have the teamwork this time around to make a deep run in the playoffs. Don't be surprised if they meet Orange League rival Valley in the championship match. The have a great play-making midfielder in Amirgy Pineda, and an explosive goal scorer in Ronadlo Pineda (yes they are related). He has scored 11 goals this season.

Valencia - The Tigers are a big physical team that can wear an opponent out. They might lack the organization on defense to make a deep run, but they do have two good goal scorers - Jesse Gonzalez and Cole Engstrom.

Woodbridge - The Warriors won the Pacific Coast League after winning four of their last six games including back-to-back triumphs against Irvine and Corona del Mar. They shut the Sea Kings out, 2-0.

Yorba Linda - The Mustangs didn't win a league game the previous two season. This year they won the championshipin the Empire League. The have a dynamic 20-plus goal scorer in Jeremy Cser. He scored twice in a game against Valencia that went a long way in clinching Coach Kino Oaxaca's first championship at the school

Corona del Mar - Yeah the Sea Kings might lack some of the punch they have when Reed Williams and Jack McBean were in the lineup, but they shouldn't be taken lightly. Jack Nowak leads the team with 12 goals

Pacifica - The Mariners finished third in the Empire League after winning five of the 10 games they played. However, they seemed to have some trouble when facing the two elite teams in the league - Valencia and Yorba Linda. The Mariners got shutout in both.

University - The Trojans placed third in the Pacific Coast League after losing only twice in their last six games. During that span they scored 12 goals while their opponents scored 10

Tustin - Finished fourth in the Empire League, but the Tillers are on a roll heading into the postseason after beating Pacifica, Cypress and Western in their last three games.

Anaheim - This is one good wild card team and probably should have been playing a first round game. They have one of the best forwards I have seen this season - Andy Muniz. He ranks in the top 10 in the county in goal scoring with 17 goals
