How they got here: Bishop Amat def. Coachella Valley, 24-0 (6 innings), South Hills of Covina, 19-0, Alemany of Mission Hills, 1-0 (11 innings), and Downey, 7-4; Ocean View def. Bishop Montgomery of Torrance, 1-0, Rowland of Rowland Heights, 3-2, Gahr of Cerritos, 2-1, and Pomona Catholic, 6-1.

Outlook: Ocean View, the Golden West League champion, is making its first appearance in the finals since winning the Division 4-A championship in 1985. Bishop Amat, the Del Rey League champion, hasn't been to the finals since making back-to-back appearances in the 1993 and 1994 Division II title games. The Seahawks have an 18-game winning streak, while the Lancers have won 10 consecutive games. Ocean View's top players are sophomore pitcher Holli Floetker (17-1, 0.64 ERA, 195 K, .372, 8 HR, 26 RBIs) and Arizona State-bound catcher Nikole Afusia (.505, 39 RBIs). Bishop Amat counters with Tennessee Chattanooga-bound shortstop Jessica Traxler (.495, 33 RBIs) and UC Riverside-bound pitcher Amy Lwin (22-8, 1.99 ERA).
