Canyon vs. West Covina recap

ORANGE - West Covina running back Isaac Tucker's third rushing touchdown helped West Covina defeat Canyon, 28-21, in a CIF-SS first-round Southwest Division playoff game Friday at El Modena High.

Tucker carried the load for West Covina, rushing for 256 yards

Canyon scored first on Josh Hawkins' 1-yard run with 46 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

West Covina came back to tie the score as Tucker scored his first touchdown in the second quarter with a 5-yard run. He then scored on a 49-yard run with 3:56 left in the first half and finished with 179 yards on 15 carries at halftime.

Hawkins finished the game with 96 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns.
