Panthers roll to victory
ORANGE A dominant offense and tough defense propeled Orange past Saddleback, 38-21, on Friday night.
The Panthers (3-6, 2-2) dominated from the start by recovering a fumbled punt after their opening drive that set up a touchdown run by Victor Amey, who rushed for 100 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns.
Orange’s offense continued to strike early and often with 16 points in the first half.
The Panthers continued to dominate in the second half by scoring 21 points.
Orange’s defense shut out the Roadrunners (0-9, 0-3) in the first half, including stopping a scoring threat at the goal line.
The defense forced two interceptions and one fumble.
"Our defense really came through for us tonight," Panthers coach Ralph Godfrey said. "I'm really happy with our defense and our offense. We played well."
