    Western dominates

    TUSTIN - Western defeated host Tustin, 28-3, Friday in a nonleague game at Tustin.

    The Pioneers (3-1) parlayed a couple of several big plays into a 28-0 halftime lead that proved insurmountable for the Tillers (1-3).

    Running back Derek Orman scored twice o long touchdowns for Western: a 40-yard run early in the first quarter for the game’s first points and a 45-yard reception midway through the second quarter to put the Pioneers ahead, 28-0.

    Led by 129 130 yards rushing from Anthony Wilkerson, Tustin consistently moved the ball against Western, but the Tillers could not convert in the red zone. three different times in the second half, Tustin penetrated the Pioneers’ 20-yard line only to turn the ball over on downs and walk away empty-handed.

    Western amassed 239 yards of offense and four touchdowns in the first half on only 11 plays from scrimmage.

    The Tillers finally got on the board with a 29-yard Santos Sepulveda field goal late in the fourth quarter.
