Here’s a look at what happened around the county in boys tennis on Thursday afternoon.

No. 1 University 16, No. 4 Northwood 2: Two days after winning its 100th straight dual match, the Trojans cruised to extend that streak to 101.

Arash Hafezi and Drew Dawson went 6-0, 6-0 in their two single sets, and together they won the first doubles set at 6-0. Josh Piatos and Riku Hashiyada also went unbeaten in their single sets for University.

The Trojans (11-0, 4-0) stand atop the Pacific Coast League, while Northwood fell to third with a 2-2 league mark.

No. 2 Corona del Mar 10, No. 7 Beckman 8: Bjorn Hoffmann swept his singles sets, while Carson Williams and Jonathan Rhone swept in doubles to propel the Sea Kings to a tight victory at home over the Patriots.

After two rounds, CdM and Beckman were all knotted up at 6-6 in stes and tied in total games, 50-50. Ryan Andrews won a critical singles set in the third round, while Samee Aboubakare and Tyler Gaede won their doubles set, giving the Sea Kings the slimmest of victories.

No. 3 Los Alamitos 13, Edison 5: Missing three of its starters, the Griffins still had no problem getting past the Chargers in a Sunset League match.

Junior Kyle McCann swept his singles sets (6-1, 6-0, 6-1), as did the doubles tandem of Naara Shin and Ethan Kolsky. Shin and Kolsky only dropped three games in doubles, which helped Los Al better its record to 3-0 in league.

Tied 3-3 after the first round of play, Fountain Valleywon five of the six second round sets to put itself ahead of the Sailors, 8-4.

Crean Lutheran 13, Sage Hill 5: Niko Ramadan and Justin Zhang swept their singles sets, while twins Bret and Even Kittelsen went unbeaten in their doubles sets. The Saints (6-0, 2-0) are now in sole possession of first place in the Academy Legaue.
