Girls soccer: Thursday's recap (1-17-13)

It was another thrilling day of soccer action around the county. Here is a look at some of the results.


In the Golden West League:

Segerstrom 3, Santa Ana 0: Vivian Vega scored twice and added an assist to lead the visiting Jaguars (10-0; 4-0) over the Saints (6-6-3; 0-3-1).

Ocean View 4, Orange 1: Danielle Dapello, Jade Kratovil, and Sam Romo each scored a goal and added an assist in the Seahawks (6-6-1; 1-2-1) win over the Panthers (1-8-1; 0-3-1).

Loara 3, Westminster 0: Josseline Cosio scored twice in the Saxons (11-5-1; 3-1) road win over the Lions (9-4-2; 2-1-1).

In the Century League:

Esperanza 1, Foothill 0: Lauren Guerra scored in the second half to lift the visiting Aztecs (10-5-4; 4-1-2) over the Knights (6-9-3; 3-3-1).

Canyon 5, El Dorado 2: Mikayla Arcebido recorded a hat trick to lead the Comanches (9-6-4; 5-1-1) past the Golden Hawks (6-11; 1-6) at El Modena High.

No. 7 Villa Park 3, El Modena 2, OT: Naydeen Cabalo scored twice, as the Spartans (13-5-4; 6-1) edged the host Vanguards (6-12-1; 0-7). Cassidy Hodson also scored for Villa Park. Brooke Glover and Whitney Strickland tallied goals for El Modena.

In the Orange League:

Santa Ana Valley 4, Magnolia 0: Genesis Alonso scored two goals and added an assist in the Falcons road win over the Sentinels. Jessica Reyes added a goal and an assist.

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 3 Corona del Mar 1, Woodbridge 1: The Warriors (5-7-2; 1-2-1) and Sea Kings (10-2-4; 2-0-2) played to a tie at Estancia High. Birkley Sigband scored a second half goal for Corona del Mar, with Katie Eisendrath scored in the second half for Woodbridge.

University 1, Beckman 0: Chloe Hemingway scored the lone goal of the match in the first half, as the Trojans (8-3-3; 3-1) defeated the Patriots (4-8-4; 1-3) at Las Lomas Community Park.

In the South Coast League:

No. 1 Dana Hills 1, Tesoro 0: Molly Regan tallied the lone goal of the match in the first half, as the host Dolphins (9-0-3; 4-0) edged the Titans (4-9-2; 0-4).

Mission Viejo 1, No. 10 San Clemente 0: Jamilah Tejan's second half goal was the difference in the Diablos' (7-5-2; 2-1-1) road win over the Tritons (8-5-3; 1-2).

In the Sunset League:

No. 6 Edison 1, Huntington Beach 1: Lindsey Archer's goal in the final moments of the match helped the visiting Oilers (6-4-5; 1-2-2) tie the Chargers (11-3-3; 3-0-2). MacKenzie Cerda scored a second half goal for Edison.

No. 8 Los Alamitos 2, Newport Harbor 0: Second half goals from Hannah Goldsmith and Alyssa Pepper propelled the Griffins (9-3-6; 4-0-1) over the Sailors (2-12-4; 0-3-2) at Laurel School.

Fountain Valley 0, Marina 0: Allison Marlow had 10 saves for the Barons (5-7-5; 0-3-2) in their tie with the Vikings (5-11-3; 2-2-1) at Marina High. Emma Walker had three saves for Marina.

In the Sea View League:

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 3, Trabuco Hills 0: Mei-Te Coco scored two of the host Cougars' three second half goals in a win over the Mustangs (1-12-3; 0-3-1). Jennifer Munoz also scored for Capistrano Valley (12-1-3; 3-0-1).

El Toro 2, San Juan Hills 2: Goals from Becky Bender and Kaiya McCullough helped the visiting Chargers (5-8-3; 1-2-1) play the Stallions (8-2-5; 2-1-1) to a tie.

In the Trinity League:

No. 9 Orange Lutheran 1, JSerra 0: Mikaela Truckey's goal late in the second half was the difference in the Lancers (14-1-5; 2-0-2) road win over the Lions (11-3-3; 2-1).

Mater Dei 2, Rosary 0: The Monarchs (8-8-3; 1-3) received goals from Allison Boland and Justine Olotoa in their win over the Royals (7-6-5; 0-2-1) at Mater Dei High. Julia Murphy had five saves for Mater Dei.

In the Orange Coast League:

Calvary Chapel 1, Costa Mesa 0: Kylee Stone's second half goal was the match winner, as the Eagles (5-6-5; 2-2) defeated the Mustangs (1-9; 0-3) at Centennial Park.

Godinez 1, Laguna Beach 0: A first half goal from Jenny Marin pushed the Grizzlies (10-2-3; 3-0-1) past the host Breakers (3-8-4; 0-4-1).

Saddleback 0, Estancia 0: The Roadrunners and Eagles (5-2-9; 1-0-3) played to a scoreless tie at Estancia High. Yocelin Garcia had three saves for Saddleback, while Caitlin Leahy had three saves for Estancia.
