Rosary's girls water polo program has named former Servite standout Rory Bevins as its coach, the school announced.
Bevins, an assistant coach the past few seasons, replaces veteran coach Mustafa Hassan. Bevins will also coach girls swim at Rosary.
Rosary's girls water polo team reached the CIF-SS Division 2 quarterfinals last season, falling to eventual champion Santiago of Corona.
The Royals could be strong again in 2012-13 with the return of junior goalie Jessica Hermosillo and sophomores Anastacia Gonzalez and Katie Tijerina as a base.
Bevins graduated from Servite in 2005 and was a three-time All-CIF performer. As a senior in 2004, he was co-MVP of the old Serra League and second-team All-County.
His sister, Bernadette also played water polo at Rosary and now plays at UC Santa Barbara for Coach Cathy Neushul. From a water polo family, Bevins' brothers, Vincent, and, Hugh, were strong water polo players Servite.
