El Toro primed for success at loaded Millikan Relays

El Toro's fourth-ranked boys swim team could be one of the teams to watch at Saturday night's blockbuster boys Millikan Southern Section Relays at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.Blockbuster? Yes, this meet is a can't-miss-stop on the 2007 schedule.
The Chargers won the Capistrano Valley Relays last Saturday, setting the only varsity meet-record at the prestigious. early-season event.
That record came in the 6x50-yard freestyle relay, an event the Chargers could contend for gold in Saturday night.
For county water polo fans, El Toro's sprint relay at Capo Valley had some familiar names. The White brothers along with Daryn Hill were starters on the Chargers' CIF-SS Division I championship boys water polo team.
If El Toro can win a race Saturday night, it would be an impressive addition to its already stellar, 2006-07 aquatics resume.
Qualifying in the meet continues Thursday at 3 p.m. Finals are Saturday at 6 p.m.
El Toro has some depth, too. The Chargers won the boys frosh-soph trophy last weekend.
Competition? Start with two-time defending relay champion and No. 1-ranked Mission Viejo and watch out. The Diablos should have their complete fleet with the exception of Chad La Tourette.
