Tesoro linebacker John Michael Davis intended to make an unofficial trip to Boise State this  weekend.

It didn’t take long for Davis to realize that Idaho was the place for him.

Davis, who will be a senior next year, said Thursday that he committed to Boise State.

“I love the town and the community, they’re all behind the football program,” Davis said from Idaho.

He also had an offer from New Mexico. He said that UCLA, Cal and Oregon were showing attention, but didn’t offer.

Davis recorded 80 tackles, one fumble recovery and an interception as a junior for Santa Margarita last year.

He transferred to Tesoro in mid-January. The 2008 season will be his first for the Titans.
