Spring Insider: Six things to know about Edison

OCVarsity.com

Six things you should know about the Chargers:

1. They like the toughness of their nonleague schedule even if it means they lose a couple of games.
“Our schedule is perfect, especially for league, because it gets us prepared,” receiver Jeff Crissman said. “Some teams don’t play much competition. We’re getting all the kinks out and facing the best. In the preseason last year we struggled, but I think it helped us leaps and bounds."

2. The Chargers are used to being overlooked in the Sunset League.
“We’re really never the favorite going into it, but we have the hardest preseason across the country,” linebacker Preston Spence said. “We don’t really take breaks out here. We’re going to set the standard high when we get into league. We’re going to see who really comes out on top in Sunset League.”

3. They might not be the most talented team, but …
“You can’t coach heart,” defensive lineman Will Andrew said. “We bring it every Friday night and surprise the other teams.”

4. Players to watch: RB Wade Houston, LB Jordan Zumwalt

5. Areas of need: quarterback, offensive line

6. Areas of strength: Linebacker, receiver
