Dana Hills Tournament: Barnes vs. Barnes
Father knows best
Until Los Alamitos and Tesoro one day meet in the playoffs, passing tournaments might be the only time we see John Barnes on one sideline and son Brian on the other.
The Tesoro coach said he doesn’t think he will ever schedule his father’s Griffins in a nonleague game.
“My dad’s my best friend,” Brian Barnes said.
John Barnes got an early Father’s Day gift when Los Alamitos beat Tesoro, 21-14, in the first round of the Dana Hills seven-on-seven tournament.
“The best-looking guy won,” is all the Los Alamitos coach offered when asked about the victory.
