Spring Insider: Q&A with Clark Evans

OCVarsity.com

Here are five questions we put to Los Alamitos' Clark Evans, who will be one of the top returning quarterbacks in the county next season.

Evans (6-4, 225) threw for 2,118 yards, completing 59.5 percent of his passes, with 18 TDs and seven interceptions. He's also a real threat to opponents when he runs with the ball.

Question: Who’s the NFL player you see yourself playing like?
Clark Evans: It was Brett Favre. Peyton Manning’s fun to watch, Tom Brady, but who I really liked to watch was Brett Favre.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do, your favorite part of the game?
CE: Probably goal-line offense when we run the single wing. That’s probably the most fun. I’m just sitting back there and can pick a play, whatever’s open. They’re (the defense) always outnumbered. I love dropping back and passing, but I think running for a touchdown is a little more fun.

Q: In your dream situation, where will you be a year from now?
CE:
I have no idea where I want to go next year.

Q: Are you the best quarterback in the county?
CE:
I don’t know. Coach (John) Barnes might say so. I know Allan Bridgford, Matt Barkley, Sean Schroeder, they’re all really good quarterbacks and I think it depends on what you want.

Q: What is something people don’t know about you?
CE:
I love watching other sports. I love going and watching any sport at Los Al -- volleyball, softball. I just love watching my school play. I follow high school sports way closer than I follow professional sports. I go on and I’ll look at volleyball, who’s ranked where. I look into other sports besides my sport.
