SUNSET LEAGUE
Esperanza (10-2)
Key position to replace: Offensive line
Comment: All five starting offensive linemen graduate from what is traditionally one of the best rushing schools in the county.
Edison (8-4)
Key position to replace: Quarterback
Comment: Five players are competing for the spot that was held by Nick Crissman (UCLA), an All-County second-team member the past two seasons.
Los Alamitos (7-3)
Key position to replace: Defensive line
Comment: The Griffins' defense might have been one of biggest reasons they missed the playoffs in 2007, and now they have to find four new starters on the line.
Newport Harbor (8-4)
Key position to replace: Defensive line
Comment: Two all-league honorees graduate from a defense that gave up more than 250 rushing yards in a game five times in 2007.
Fountain Valley (5-5)
Key position to replace: Quarterback
Comment: The leading rusher and two leading receivers return to an offense that managed to score 15 points just once in league, against last-place Marina.
Marina (3-7)
Key position to replace: Defensive back
Comment: All four starters in the secondary graduate from a defensive unit that allowed an average of 50 points a game in league.
